news & opinion with no titillating non-news from the major non-news channels.

I am: progressive, not a wild-eyed Progressive; liberal, but shun liberals and Liberals; conservative, but some Conservatives worry me; absolutely NOT a libertarian. I am: an idealist, but no utopian; a pragmatist, but no Machiavellian. I am a realist who dreams.

I welcome all opinions.

Daniel Schorr:
the unbiased liberal NPR Senior News Analyst

Heard on NPR (All Things Considered) the Saturday after 7/7 (ok, that was ancient history in blog time, but gimme a break, I'm just getting my feet wet after a long dry spell):

Daniel Schorr: "Tony Blair, the British Prime Minister, has paid a heavy price for his stalwart backing of his friend, George Bush."

The British aren't allies in the War on Terror because Tony Blair is Bush's trained dog. Give the man, and the British nation, a little credit. They are there because their Prime Minister sincerely believes the cause is just and the fight is noble.

I guess since Mr. Schorr can't equate nobility and valor and honor with warrior values, he has to make up something.

Now, I think that Thompson's attack and purge on NPR of liberal bias is a little whacked, but it makes you wonder when Daniel Schorr is a Senior News Analyst for NPR...

Unbiased? Daniel Schorr? To quote "Princess Bride" "You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means"
