news & opinion with no titillating non-news from the major non-news channels.

I am: progressive, not a wild-eyed Progressive; liberal, but shun liberals and Liberals; conservative, but some Conservatives worry me; absolutely NOT a libertarian. I am: an idealist, but no utopian; a pragmatist, but no Machiavellian. I am a realist who dreams.

I welcome all opinions.

It really is about Vietnam!:
Surveys confirm the next election will be more about Jande Fonda than Iraq

At www.popularq.com, surveys indicate that while

  • only 34% of the people see Bush as their hero,
  • 40% agree with Bush's policies on Iraq,
  • 39% trust Bush,
  • 48% prefer Rice over Clinton for the first Female Prez
  • and only 45% thinks Laura Bush is a better First Lady than Hillary Clinton,

68% still hate Jane Fonda.

Well, that says something.
